The class and who it suits
Chanter is a hybrid. In melee, it deals meaningful damage; its spells heal, remove debuffs, and strengthen the party. Undefeated Mantra is its main group benefit, giving nearby allies PvE damage and Damage Tolerance. Solo, the class can heal itself and rarely needs help.
This guide covers the start after level 45, with roughly 230–250 skill points and an unfinished monolith.
Your job in combat
What to know first
- Dark Crush can follow Spinning Strike, Impactful Crush, and Marchutan's Wrath. Link those attacks.
- Gust Rampage and Raging Spell work against staggered bosses. If you do not fight bosses, invest those points elsewhere.
- Obliterate deals 50 stagger-bar damage. Keep it at least at level 1 so you can help your party stagger a boss.
- Skill and stigma points can be reset for free, so try different layouts.

Passive skills
Passive priority
Crossguard contributes little, while Impact Hit is mainly relevant to PvP at the start.
Stigmas

Starting set
Fourth slot
First give every important stigma its minimum useful level. Then take Undefeated Mantra to +10 and ultimately +20.
Rotation
The core links are Spinning Strike → Dark Crush, Marchutan's Wrath → Dark Crush, and Impactful Crush → Dark Crush. Between them, use the MP-restoring basic attack Onslaught. Keep Undefeated Mantra active and use Recuperation when needed.
When a boss is staggered, switch to Gust Rampage. Tune macro delays to your ping; the skill macro guide explains how.
Daevanion

Green nodes raise passive skill levels and blue nodes raise active skill levels. First route toward Spinning Strike, Dark Crush, and Attack Preparation, then collect bonus Attack and Critical Hit. See the Chanter boards in Daevanion.
Common mistakes
- Undefeated Mantra turned offThe party loses damage and Damage Tolerance.
- Gust Rampage without boss fightsPoints are spent on a skill you do not use.
- Dark Crush used without its setupYou lose the class's best damage.
- No stagger-bar damageThe boss is not staggered and the party loses its damage window.
Checklist for harder content
Chanter ready
- Undefeated Mantra at least +10;
- Spinning Strike with reduced cooldown and Dark Crush with a guaranteed critical hit;
- Attack Preparation and Wind's Promise at maximum level;
- Obliterate in the stigma set;
- fourth stigma chosen for party or solo play.
The takeaway
Chanter gives the party Undefeated Mantra, chains Dark Crush after strong strikes, and heals when needed. Max Attack Preparation and Wind's Promise, then take Undefeated Mantra as high as possible.
