The class and who it suits

Ranger attacks from 20 meters, slows and binds enemies, then uses skills that hit harder against slowed or restrained targets. Multi-hit, which adds strikes to your arrows, and Combat Speed are the class's best stats.

The class is fragile: even ordinary monsters can kill a Ranger who gets caught, and boss mechanics demand constant movement. Start with options that let you attack while moving and absorb HP.

This guide covers the start after level 45, while skill points, stigma points, and Daevanion are limited. Endgame builds differ.

Your job in combat

At rangeKeep shooting and moving so enemies cannot close the gap.
CombosSlow or bind a target, then use skills that gain bonuses against it.

What to know first

  • MP is the Ranger's biggest early problem. Frequent skills need MP-saving or MP-restoring options.
  • In target selection mode, your character resumes Snipe after every skill, dealing damage and restoring MP. In combat mode, they stop. Target selection works better with macros.
  • Drill Dart triggers only after a critical hit, so Marking Shot and Bow of Blessing belong early in the chain.
  • Burst Arrow and Explosive Arrow hit slowed or bound targets harder. Combine them with Snare Shot.

Active skills and specializations

Skill points raise abilities to level 10. Get the main ones there first; level 8 and the first specialization suffice for the rest.

Main skills

Support

Marking Shot can stay at level 1 early. Later it helps set up Perfect Chance and Critical Hit before a chain. Suppressing Arrow is a single-target skill with little PvE value.

Passive skills

Passive priority

Wind Vigor, Revitalization Contract, and Vigilant Eye add little in PvE.

Stigmas

Ranger stigmas split into PvE and PvP choices. Start with PvE; stigma points can be reset for free.

PvE set

For more damage

Sealing Arrow, Ambush Kick, Illusory Arrow, and Ensnaring Trap are for PvP and arenas, where you play manually.

Rotation and macros

Damage chain

  1. Step 01 — buffsVaizel's Authority and Bow of Blessing.
  2. Step 02 — strongest hitFully charged Deadshot.
  3. Step 03 — comboExplosion Trap or Snare Shot, followed by Burst Arrow and Explosive Arrow against the slowed target.

The simplest plan for one target is to bind it and shoot. A Ranger macro has three rows:

  1. Marking Shot for Perfect Chance and Critical Hit, buffs, then Gale Arrow, Drill Dart after the critical hit, and Tempest Shot.
  2. Bind combo: Snare Shot → Burst Arrow → Explosive Arrow.
  3. Other skills as they become ready.

Use charged Deadshot, Explosion Trap, and buffs manually. The skill macro guide explains how to match delay to ping.

Daevanion

The class Daevanion board

  • Nezekan: Attack and Combat Speed first.
  • Zikel: Damage Boost; Damage Tolerance and bonus Accuracy can wait.
  • Vaizel: all four Critical Damage Boost nodes.
  • Triniel: all four multi-hit chance nodes.

Green nodes raise passive skill levels, blue nodes active levels. After the main lines, collect skill nodes, then bonus Attack and Critical Hit. On the PvE damage board, take PvE Damage Boost first and defense and HP last; Ranger survives through distance and movement. The PvP board, Azphel, is expensive early, but take PvP Damage Boost lines if you can. See the Ranger boards in Daevanion.

Equipment

Choose weapons, accessories, and Soul Binding options around multi-hit and Combat Speed. See the stats guide for all stats.

Common mistakes

  1. No MP savingsYou run out of mana after a few chains.
  2. Shooting while stationaryMonsters and boss mechanics can catch and kill a fragile Ranger.
  3. PvP stigmas in dungeonsControl and buff removal do little boss damage.
  4. Defense instead of damageRanger survives with range and movement, not armor.

Checklist for harder content

Ranger ready

  • Snipe and Tempest Shot save or restore MP;
  • Deadshot charges faster;
  • Vaizel's Authority and Bow of Blessing are in the stigma set;
  • Critical Damage and multi-hit lines are filled on Daevanion;
  • macro delays suit your ping.

The takeaway

Ranger needs multi-hit, Combat Speed, and constant movement. Fix MP costs through specializations, shoot in target selection mode, and link slows with Burst Arrow and Explosive Arrow for high damage from a safe distance.
