PvP options

PvP players have several options:
- 1v1 arena and 5v5 arena;
- equalized battlefield where stats are normalized;
- rifts, where you can switch to PvE mode and avoid attacks from other players;
- the Abyss, with PvP at any hour, ranks, PvP equipment, and artifact sieges.
There are no large legion wars or mass battles to reach a world boss. If you expect a tank to hold a crowd of enemy players while a group attacks, that is not how these fights work.

Should you play a tank?
If you like tanking, yes. In the first season, any dungeon can be cleared without a tank: you do not have to absorb all the damage, and gear matters more than class. A tank also holds up well in solo PvP, with plenty of HP, a pull, and enough toughness to survive a burst. See the Templar guide for details.
Why make alts?
What extra characters provide
How to enhance your main's item with an alt's Kinah
- Put unbound Kinah in storage and withdraw it on the other character.
- For bound Kinah, put the main character's item you want to enhance in storage instead.
- Withdraw it on the alt and enhance it. The alt cannot equip it, but can improve it.
- Return the item to storage and withdraw the enhanced version on your main.
Daily pet dungeons are now shared across the account, and the pet system is simpler in the global version. You no longer need alts to farm pets.
The longer-term goal is to level each alt far enough to farm sanctuary content. Cleric and Chanter are easy starting choices: they can clear weekly activities and bring enhancement materials to your main.
Legions

A legion is not required for progression right now: there are no legion wars, legion skills, or stat bonuses. Its hub has merchants and practice dummies. The real benefit is finding regular teammates for PvE. Join for the people, not hidden bonuses.
Useful settings and details
- Changing your appearance after character creation requires a special item. The shop sells it, and it is often given out in promotions, events, and codes.
- Weapon on your back outside combat: look under Settings → Graphics → Camera for the out-of-combat weapon display option.
- Skill bar: one key can hold up to four skills. The game uses the first one ready and skips cooldowns. See the skill macro guide.
- Daevanion: select a node and press F to remove it; reset a whole board for a small Kinah fee. Experiment and inspect the boards in Daevanion.
- Language: the global version includes Russian text and subtitles, with English voice acting.
The takeaway
AION 2 PvP centers on arenas, the battlefield, rifts, and the Abyss. Alts provide Kinah, separate energy, and shop purchases; a legion provides people to run dungeons with.
