Dungeon and rewards
Vakron Sky Island is the expedition where boss mechanics first matter. Until now, most bosses could simply be out-damaged. Here, the party can die before the boss does if nobody knows the mechanics.
Players come for unique armor at item level 70, which lasts until 2100. See 1400 to 1800+ GS for energy use and guaranteed chests.
Vakron drops
Petrify: the island-wide mechanic

Almost every enemy on the island can apply Petrify. Stacks build up: two are manageable, but the third turns your character to stone. You cannot move and take damage until an ally frees you.
- Watch your stacksThe Petrify icon appears by your health bar. At two stacks, head to a pillar.
- Light pillarsWalk through one to remove Petrify. Each pillar has about 10 charges, so do not waste them.
- Free alliesHit a petrified player two or three times to free them. If nobody is nearby, they die and revive at the totem.
Mini-boss 1: Tiere — poison

Tiere is the most important mini-boss. If the group mishandles the poison, a wipe is almost certain.
- Spread outEveryone starts with poison overhead. Standing close transfers it and stacks the damage. Spread across the arena.
- Gather in the flowerAt a health threshold, Tiere summons a flower (mushroom). Everyone enter its area to clear the poison.
- Share projectilesTiere immediately throws projectiles at the group, leaving poison puddles. Stay together and step the same way after each hit so the puddles land in one spot.
- Two jumpsTiere jumps on the group twice with a large area attack. Keep room clear so you can move.
Mini-boss 2: Thamon — Petrify and aura

- Charged zonesZones charge beneath players. Getting hit applies Petrify for six seconds, then Thamon lands a powerful blow.
- Free and jumpHit petrified allies to free them, then jump over Thamon's next attack.
- Purple auraThamon absorbs magic damage. Mages, spiritmasters, and other magic classes must stop attacking while it lasts.
- Red auraThamon absorbs physical damage. Gladiators, templars, assassins, and rangers must stop, or his health will recover.
Final boss: Vakron
Vakron has a lot of health and chains several mechanics together. Here they are in order.

- RootsThe fight usually starts with roots. They cannot be parried or dodged. Allies must hit anyone caught. An invulnerability skill also works, but a five-player party usually does not need it.
- Meteor showerVakron raises his staff and meteors target everyone. Run back and dodge; parrying works here.

- Three wavesRed waves cannot be parried or dodged. Jump over the yellow rings, three in a row. After the third, another stunning hit follows: stay airborne or jump away.
- Stone circleA ring of stone traps the group. One rock is red. Hit it 10 times in total, then leave before it explodes.
- VinesVines grow across the arena near the end. Walk around them and keep attacking.
Before the fight
- Everyone knows to go to a pillar at two Petrify stacks
- The group agrees where to take Tiere's projectiles
- Mages and physical classes know which Thamon aura means stop
- The nearest ally frees players caught by Vakron's roots
- Bring a stun stigma; it helps in every dungeon
- Attacking Thamon during the wrong auraHis health returns, the fight drags on, and mistakes become more likely.
- Leaving an ally petrifiedWithout help, they die and run back from the totem.
- Staying in the stone circleIt kills the whole group. Focus the red rock.
- Wasting light pillarsEach has about 10 charges; you may need them later.
